Technology and Geometry

Image
Here I am again! As you know, today we are surrounded by technological advances, proposals to enhance certain technological capabilities to our students. Is it really carried out? Do you take advantage of these resources? All this will depend on the teacher, the ability that has to choose the most appropriate websites for your class, enhancing the technological capacity of students. Using technologies is not always a good thing, since in many centers there is a lack of technological equipment, or light can go at any given time. On the other hand, it has positive things such as the one that enhances the autonomous learning of the students, creating a complementary space to the classroom. In addition, they are usually free resources. For this reason, I would like to show you some of them that can be used by our pupils: - "Las matemáticas de Hades" That resource is proposed by Junta of Extremadura. It is named “ Las matemáticas de Hades ”, where you can find a pr...

Singing with geometry

Image
Here I am again! This post is connected with the last one. This underlines other different way to work with our pupils some geometry concepts, really enjoyable for our learners! As I have said there are too many ways to deal with different geometry concepts, such as music, sports games, TICS ... but which is the best one? Each one has their positive and negative points. Nevertheless, the geometry and music connection, in my view, is the most suitable one. I´m going to give you some reasons: - In an unconscious way Knowledge lasts over time. Who does not remember "head shoulders knees and toes" song? Thanks to this song we learned body parts in an easy and fun way. - It brings fun and rhythm to a topic that usually costs students many efforts, since they are difficult concepts to understand, attending to their psychological development. Here I leave you a good example↘ It is easy to see how students know how is represented the different lines, angles a...

Today I have a very interesting post about a Math method carried in Singapore. Here the traditional method is neglected in order to let place another way of teaching that is more focused on learners´ Math process understanding. Here I let you two videos about it; in the first one you will learn what it is and in the second one you will see a demonstration of it. I hope that you enjoy them!

Artistic Education and Symmestry

Image
This post is related to symmetry concept and how we can deal with this in a meaningful way. We know that this concept has to be worked manually and visually, due to the fact that theu need to do and see by their own. But how we can do it in an significant way?! There are too many different ways to work this concept in Artistic Education, let´s see most of them!! - "Printing" technique   It is really easy and funny for our leaners this technique with that they would be able to see the symmetry concept. Here I leave you a video where appears what it is needed and how to do it. - Snowflake technique This is other way to work with this concept. Here I leave you a video where appears what it is needed and how to do it. Each final production of the students can be used as decoration for the classroom of these. I hope that you have enjoy and be help with this post.

The importance of Geometry

Image
Have you ever asked yourself why the geometry is important for our daily life? I am sure that you have done. In addition, I am sure too that you have wondered about its didactic application. For this reason I will deal with its importance and its didactic application, in order to make pupils aware of its importance. Firstly, if you take a look of your surroundings you will realize that geometry is everywhere; angles, shapes, lines, line segments, curves and other aspects of it. It creates our environment. For instance, in the daily life is necessary to have the basic geometry knowledge in order to orientate in space. The school is such as a brilliant place full of geometry shapes, where students can explore it looking for them. In this practical way, students would be aware of our geometrical dimension, taking real examples of their school. Little by little, they would be realizing that the geometric shapes are everywhere. For this reason, a good didactic application for m...
